NOVA’s 2025 fall classes will begin The week of September 22 and will end the week of November 17th. Each class will end with a showcase performance.

CORE CLASSES

CORE classes are offered every semester at NOVA.

Tiny Tot Theater

Cost: $120 for the semester or $20/class
Age: 3 to 5
Day: Thursdays
Time: 2:45 – 3:45
Taught by: DeLaney Hardy Ray

In this class students will be introduced to the magic of theater and storytelling. Your child will learn how to tell a story through theater games, imagination, focused listening, and exploring.


Creative Drama

Cost: $180
Age: 6 to 8
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 3:45 to 4:45
Taught by: DeLaney Hardy Ray

Let’s play! Students will learn how to put on a play using theater games, learning how to follow stage directions, building an ensemble, and focused listening. They will also learn about their Actor’s Toolkit: Body, Voice, and Imagination!


Intro to Theater

Cost: $200
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 5:00 – 6:00
Taught by: Angie Goeke

In Intro to Theater students will get a crash course in many different types of theater including improv, puppetry, reader’s theater, miming, to name a few. They will also learning other skills needed in theater such as projecting, enunciation, backstage etiquette, and more!


Acting 1 (Pre-Requisite for Acting 2 in spring)

Day: Wednesdays
Time: 4:00 – 5:00

In Acting 1 students will put on a short play and develop the skills needed to perform a show: reading and comprehending a script, memorizing, listening for cues, taking direction, projecting, and enunciating.


Musical Theater

Cost: $200
Day: Thursdays
Time: 3:45 – 4:45
Taught by: Janie Sutton

Description: Acting, singing, dancing, oh my! In this class students will learn how to become a triple threat! Students will learn the basics of musical theatre while learning music and choreography for a selection of songs. 

ELECTIVES

Storytime Theater

Cost: $120 for the semester or $20/class
Day: Mondays
Time: 2:45 – 3:45

Description: In this class students will enter a new story every week and use their Actor’s Toolkit (bodies, voices and imaginations) to make it come to life!

Audition Prep: Monologue Work

Cost: $120 (or $220 for Monologue Work AND Acting the Song)
Day: Thursdays 9/25 – 10/16
Time: 5:00 – 6:00

Description: In Audition Prep: Monologue Work, students will get ready for auditions by focusing on monologue performance. Students will learn how to choose the right piece, bring it to life with strong emotions and clear choices, and feel confident performing in front of others. With guidance and feedback, young actors will build skills to shine in any audition room.

Audition Prep: Acting the Song

Cost: $120 (Or $220 for Acting the Song AND Monologue Work)
Day: Thursdays 10/23 – 11/20
Time: 5:00 – 6:00

Description: In Audition Prep: Acting the Song, young performers will learn how to bring songs to life by connecting to the lyrics and telling a story through performance. Focusing on bothsinging and acting, students will explore character, emotion, and intention to create authentic audition ready pieces. Perfect for young performers looking to grow their confidence and shine in musical theatre auditions. 

Movement for the Stage

Cost: $120
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays (1/6-1/29)
Time: 5:00 – 6:00
Taught by: Kyle Fergus

Description: In Movement for the Stage, students will learn how to walk, gesture, and interact with their space to create a character and to tell a story.

Funky Bunch Improv Workshop


Cost: $10
Day: November 22
Time: 1:00 – 3:00

Description: NOVA’s youth improv troupes, Funky Bunch, Jr and Funky Bunch, will be hosting a workshop for youth interested in learning the art of short form improvisation! Participants do not need to prepare anything, but should come ready to move!
