OperaFest is a delightful evening of live opera entertainment, fine dining, with upscale live and silent auctions on Saturday, April 1, 2023, beginning at 6PM with hors d’oeuvres and no-host cocktails, followed by a gourmet dinner with select wines.

OperaFest is a unique opportunity to meet and hear professional opera singers and musicians in an intimate setting. The cast of the upcoming opera Salome by composer Richard Strauss, will be performing at OperaFest throughout the evening.

Live auction items include an African photo safari for two, an appearance in a Rimrock Opera – NOVA production, and a private gourmet dinner for eight by a local prominent chef.

NOVA Center for the Performing Arts and Rimrock Opera will host the event at the Hilands Golf Club, 714 Poly Drive, Billings, Montana, on Saturday, April 1st, 2023.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with hors d’oeuvre and no-host cocktails, followed by a gourmet dinner with select wines. Attire is as formal as the guest wishes. A highlight of the evening will be performances from the artists of the upcoming opera, Salome, to be performed at NOVA on April 7, 8, 14, and 16, 2023.

Reds, Whites, and Brews

In 2023, NOVA will host the annual season opening fundraising event, Reds, Whites, and Brews. Reds, Whites and Brews joins NOVA’s supporters, performers, and staff for a smorgasbord of performance, food, and drink. Funds will be raised for future summer camps, ongoing classes, and supporting NOVA’s mission to provide drama, musical theater, improv comedy, opera, and youth conservatory under one roof.

Throughout the night, short bursts of performance will take place, including singers from the operas and youth actors.

Auction of Arias

One of the most popular fundraisers of the year for NOVA Center for the Performing Arts, this event features national and regional opera performers singing a selection of favorite opera arias by Puccini, Mozart, and more, as well as Broadway showstoppers.

Regional and local opera singers will offer up selections from “Carmen’s Tragedy,” opening at the end of September at McCormick’s Cafe.

Guests will meet and mingle with opera artists, while enjoying select wines and desserts in this intimate setting. During the evening, attendees are able to bid of their choice of favorite opera singer to perform numbers from the program.

Valentine’s Day…a day for hearts, a day for recognition of all those people and things we love!  Celebrate with the ones you love, and support the arts with NOVA Center for the Performing Arts on this, their 10th season, as they host the annual celebration For The Love of the Arts.

This year’s celebration will be held February 14th, at NOVA, 2317 Montana Ave., Billings, MT. Doors open at 6:30PM, guests will be treated to an evening of tasty treats, complimentary wine, as well as live music by the local trio “Mojo”. Ticket prices are $50 per couple and $30 for individuals. A silent auction filled with delightful “date night” gift cards will also be held, as well as the popular wine raffle.  The winning ticket for the raffle wins the bottle of wine as well as two wine glasses…and a night for two at The Northern Hotel in downtown Billings. There will also be a photo booth decorated specifically for the occasion. Plan an evening out with your Valentine.  Come for the goodies, come for the fun, come “for the love of the arts”. 

NOVA Center for the Performing Arts is a local community theater that offers productions for both adults and youngsters, improv comedy, plus music, singing, and drama classes throughout the school year and summer camps from June through August.  NOVA is the only venue in Billings that regularly offers live operas.

This annual event is a vital fundraiser for NOVA’s Youth Conservatory. Sponsors include The Northern Hotel and NOVA Board members.
