About the Art: Carolyn Thayer

“The Traveler” -$250 value
by Carolyn Thayer

Carolyn Thayer was born and raised in the wide open spaces of Montana. As she grew up, she observed the ever changing light on the contours of the landscape around her. As a young art student, she was influenced greatly by the impressionists and the way they utilized light.
Carolyn received her degree in Art from Montana State University, Bozeman, in 1972. She is an educator who has taught both public school and privately for over 25 years. She has won numerous awards and participated in many juried shows. She is best known locally for her illustrations for the book “Billings Historic Homes.” Her designs have been published nationally and her greeting card designs have been published internationally.

Carolyn currently lives in Billings, Montana, with her husband and a very spoiled Scottish Terrier.

The Traveler is a decorated trumpet case.
