NOVA Center for the Performing Arts will take its audiences down the yellow brick road to Oz with a summer production of “The Wizard of Oz.”
The musical opens Friday and runs through July 26. Directed by Youth Conservatory Director Dan Nickerson, “The Wizard of Oz” will feature many local students in a nontraditional adaptation.

“Through imaginative storytelling, we are literally using children as props and set pieces. Technical director, Nathan Blanding and I have made it a point to showcase not just Dorothy, but the storytellers who move the plot forward,” Nickerson said.
