Have you ever wondered how a play is developed
from start to finish? The Wet Ink Festival is an opportunity to
participate in the full run of original one-act plays created
within a 24-hour time period.
Each play will be written,
directed, rehearsed and produced all in 24 hours at NOVA Center
for the Performing Arts. It begins Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Audience members will have the unique experience of picking
titles and props from which the writers will draw inspiration
and create an original play. You also get to witness something
rarely seen by anyone other than the production team — actor
auditions.
On Sept. 20, audience members pick the play
titles, witness the actor auditions, and then return Sept. 21 to
see each play onstage in its completed form.
The event
features directors Patrick Wilson, Craig Huisenga, Lisa Halpin
and Adam Jacques. The writers are Gustavo Bellotta, Travis
Bierwagen, Ryan Gage and Shad Allen Scott.
Tickets are
free on Friday night and $5 on Saturday night for anyone who
bring a canned food for charity. For more information call
591-9535.
